A beloved son, a beautiful coat, and a God who works every story for good. Colour Joseph’s story with this free printable Bible page for kids.
The Story Behind the Picture
Joseph was one of Jacob’s twelve sons, and his father loved him very much. To show that love, Jacob gave Joseph a beautiful coat woven in many colours — a gift so special it made Joseph stand out wherever he went.
His brothers grew jealous of the coat and of their father’s love. They treated Joseph unkindly and sent him far from home. Yet through every twist and turn, the Lord stayed close to him. In time, God lifted Joseph up to become a great leader in Egypt, where he saved his whole family — and many nations — from famine. What others meant for harm, God turned into good.
Long before Jesus walked the earth, Joseph’s life quietly pointed to Him: a much-loved son, rejected by his own, who ended up rescuing the very people who had hurt him. It is a beautiful reminder that God is never finished writing a good story, even on the hardest days.
“As for you, you meant evil against me, but God meant it for good.” Genesis 50:20
Colour & Chat
While you colour, here are a few things to wonder about together:
- Joseph’s coat had many colours — which ones will you choose for his?
- Can you find the little sheep grazing in the fields?
- When something feels unfair, remember the Lord was with Joseph every single day — and He is with you too.
Print it, colour it, and let Joseph’s story remind your family that God is always working for good.
