One language, one giant tower, and a people who forgot God. Colour the Tower of Babel with this free printable Bible page for kids.
The Story Behind the Picture
Long ago, everyone on earth spoke the very same language. The people decided to build an enormous tower that would reach all the way up to the sky, so that they could make a great name for themselves.
They worked and worked, stacking bricks higher and higher. But the people had forgotten all about God and were trusting only in themselves. So God gently stepped in and gave them many different languages, all at once, so they could no longer understand one another.
The building stopped, and the people spread out across the whole earth — which was God’s good plan all along. Many years later, at Pentecost, God would use many languages once more, this time to bring people together to hear the good news of Jesus.
“Except the Lord build the house, they labour in vain that build it.” Psalm 127:1
Colour & Chat
While you colour, here are a few things to wonder about together:
- The tower is covered in tiny builders — how many workers can you count?
- Can you spot the baskets and cranes lifting the heavy bricks?
- The people forgot to ask God. When you start something new, who could you talk to first?
Print it, colour it, and let the great tower remind your family that nothing we build is ever bigger than God.
